Is this a joke?

I don't think I'll notice the launch of HTML 5 in 2012. I'll be too busy wearing my VR helmet and controlling the computer by waving madly like Tom Cruise in Minority Report.

Oops, I see that the earliest predicted date is actually 2017. By then, my brain will have been placed in to a jar of goop with electrodes attached, and my immortal titanium robot body will have no need for browser technology.
Either way, HTML 5 loses.

I'm disappointed that the only stuff people are talking about are the removal "div tag hell" and a "video" tag.
That's incredibly lame.
Are they nice, sure. But they don't change the game when it comes to what a browser can do.
Give me real application tools, not a bunch of "cleaning up" of stuff that already works today.
